Overview

As the world as we knew it changes in real time right before our eyes, we need to explore, learn and develop the leadership capacities to engage creatively with the complexities and paradoxes of our time. Particularly as we grapple with not just finding but feeling comfortable with a shift in the assumptions, values and narratives that we have been holding.

This Masterclass introduces ideas around adaptive leadership that can support us, others in our communities and those that create the scaffolding needed to do our work as leaders. We’ll step back and better understand our own contexts, the adaptive containment required to build not just resilience, but resourcefulness and challenge some of our practices as we embody the work of adaptive leadership

Your Hosts –

Terri Soller (Sydney, NSW, Australia)

Terri is a highly experienced Leadership Development practitioner, thought leader, teacher and consultant in leadership and adaptive change. With a background in leading large systems transformation, she has over 25 year’s experience in designing and delivering highly impactful leadership development interventions in the government, corporate, and community sectors in Australia and internationally. Her work is primarily with senior leaders and executives to explore, understand, improve and transform their leadership practice and build the capacity of whole systems/sectors to adapt to new challenges/opportunities and face new realities. She approaches the work of transformation from a holistic perspective, integrating a number of theories and practices related to human and organizational development, psychology, system thinking, and adult learning.

Terri is the Managing Director of Conversus Leaders in Sydney, Australia with clients as far afield as Europe, the United Kingdom and Africa. Her background includes consulting at Deloitte, Principal Consultant at Social Leadership Australia and various Organisational Development and leadership positions in corporate organizations. She lectures at several universities around the world in the fields of leadership strategy and change.

Maxine Jaffit (Johannesburg, South Africa)

Maxine has consulted to organizations both in South Africa and internationally during her 30-year career. She has designed, facilitated and implemented leadership development and change programs, focusing specifically on Adaptive Leadership, Adaptive Change, Leading in Complexity and Systemic Cultural Diagnosis. She adds value to clients through her broad experience, with her core purpose being to ensure that leaders and organizations are able to continuously develop, build their adaptive muscle to thrive in complexity and to function at their growing edge.

Maxine joined Gotham Culture a New York based consulting firm as an Associate in 2008 and worked with them for 8 years in the USA with clients including start-ups, mid-size and multi-national organizations across a range of industries. She works extensively with multinational organizations, including Google in the USA where over the past 8 years she has focused on leadership development with VPs and Directors.

As an academic she teaches and supervises students on MBA and postgraduate programmes, has published research and is a regular speaker and facilitator for corporate and business school executive programmes.
